faith in a souless prayer by Matthew Sharpgod please help me realize
that im not the only one stressin
the helpless frustration of watching
someone youre attracted to build a facade
and hide their motives
in the face of genuine honesty in curiosity
you wont peg me nothing describes me
no category no matter how allegory
would compare me
to your past or rivals
im embarrased because i blush
both of us with skin so flushed
but i wonder....
has anyone lasted long enough
to call your bluff? 08/30/2009 Posted on 08/30/2009 Copyright © 2024 Matthew Sharp

Posted by Glenn Currier on 09/03/09 at 04:49 PM I had to meet Alison's gypsy boy. I see the reason for the attraction and look forward to exploring your work more in the future. This poem weaves relationship tension in with the dance of a faithwondering vagabond. I like the tension there too, the dare. You have cut and hammered a thought-provoking piece of ? pine or fir? |
