My Reflections Reflecting Myself

by Wendy Sparling

While the sun bid me good morning, wavelets
playfully caressed the shoreline like fingers
scaling musical keyboards, until the sun
broke fully through the monotonous night.

Ocean scents mingled with my presence
as the sun bathed my body with shadows
stretching across the taupe sandbar and
over water polished pebble stones.

Beyond the horizon a bird sang sweetly,
saturating my ears with boundless joy,
as the sea reflected a vivid path of fiery
wings flying towards my open hand.

Marveling at this unexpected visit,
I realized my tranquil mood heightened
as the Bird of Paradise peered at his
reflection in my eyes, and my perception
of complete BEING enveloped me.

Gazing upon my reflections reflecting myself,
infinity reflected my ONENESS.

Being alone with morning and the thrill of life posed in a bird's song can bring about this reflection. Very nice write Wendy.

An exotic morning caught in an exotic poem!

This is quite lovely, Wendy. I really got into the sun greeting, the sandbar and sea. I am also struck with the soft "s" sounds throughout and in them hear the waves lapping gently on your shore. The final sense of peace in the last word whispers into me as I end this day. I will now sleep better. Thanks Wendy.
