"In Twilights"

by Max Phineas

Our faces glow red from chasing tail lights
evading twilights
a silent drive on a noisy night
a lethargic drear and lingering alcohol in the back of the taxi
little to say in too much time
a hollow ache in a hollow space
tapping window glass with nervous knuckles
but our smiles fill the darkness and I don't speak my wish
for endlessly more nights
like this.

I love this poem. It is so evocative and the images capture my imagination. The rhymes are great. You paint a fascinating picture. Well done.
