Illume by Alison McKenzieIllume says the Sun
Warming morning walks
And lattes.
Illume says the glow, of
Rich earth layers
Dipped in decadence
Illume, like it dances,
Sparks on fertile expression ignite
Passion and love
You say there is no love,
Only the inferno raging.
I say there is no depth
Without the fire of love exposed.
We shall see
Which truth
Propels.
Illume says clarity,
Crystal vision in azure skies
And cleansing wind…

Posted by Sandy M. Humphrey on 08/18/09 at 06:09 PM I love your word choice here, so expressive. The contrasts of emotional freedom willing to take a risk vs chemical reaction of endorphins. The heart will win if you can continue to bring your clarity with your pen. smh |
Posted by A. Paige White on 08/18/09 at 06:14 PM Sure wish I could join you in such a walk (where it's only warm and not hot) if such beautiful poetry lined the path. Beautiful words from a beautiful wordsmith! |
Posted by George Hoerner on 08/19/09 at 12:04 AM Good write Alison but oh how passion spews muddy water in the wake of clarity. If you see through the muddy water you have great vision. |

Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 08/26/09 at 03:23 AM Marvelous! Not only to I love to say the word "illume" - it fills my tongue and puckers my lips into a kiss as though I am the sun and I may share its clarity. Thank you! |
