Final Goodbyes by Clara Mae Gregory
The seraphic sun has gone away
The bittersweet breeze quietly cries
Broken branches bend and sway
Fingertip twigs scratch lunar eyes
Darkness descends and abounds
Azure mauve skies turn and melanize
Sepulchral silence entombs the sounds
On the day we exchanged final goodbyes
Your warmth forever left my day
Leaving me grievously asking why
The seraphic sun has gone away
The bittersweet breeze quietly dies
