August guardian in our garden

by A. Paige White

Within the bearing lush
ness
the barest breeze should
hush lest
the hopper in the peppers
nearing hearing

frees
a gust

..August Seconds..

Author's Note:

We stooped to look
to find a hopper looking back

it is not merely by chance that these words came together, but owing to your ever gathering spirit, which has such powerful rhythms and musicality flowing through that eyes cannot help but do a glad dance.
