defect

by Melissa Arel

i have a desperate need
to be something. someone.
i don't want to live
an ordinary life
like my mother before me.
i want more;
to shimmer and shine
and stand apart.
i often wonder if this is
a fault in me. a defect.
a crack in my making.
who am i -
but an imperfect person
with beautiful dreams.

love the question-like ending. i don't think its a defect, though some might :-) i think we all want to "be something" or do something with our lives, so i'd say if its a true defect, then 99.99% of the population has the same defect! so, explain the TAG??

Yearning is never a defect...in you, it is an attribute...and the beautiful dreams are its sunshine. And yeah, what is this TAG thing? ..:)
