i leave by Charlie Morgani leave them, breathless with awe;
that's sad to the degree, that in [his]
world, no white man has trod in there
and is caring and smart--the same man!
how great is that?(they dared not think)
(one man--a teacher, too) that will
'tote dat bale, plumb dat bawrge' along
wi't ye? i'm jus asting, jus asting.'
i stand my ground of love, extended firmly.
unilaterally,[then i explain unilaterally.]
it's a job. a life. a calling. not for all.
'tis my wallow pit, my badge of courage.
constantly i leave.
every morning i leave:
the donut shoppe,the freeway,
my truck, then the building.
i leave all with hangings of my DNA in words,
carrying-on my life's oral expression.
extant are my words on the river's horizon.
a day later, we float by and gather blossoms.
then, we all leave.

| Posted by George Hoerner on 07/09/09 at 02:20 PM Yes Charlie, we all leave what we have known for the unknown. The atomic dust and a new beginning are waiting for us. This is a great write sir! |
