I Will Miss Touch by Alison McKenzieMoving softly forward
Not sure of what I want,
Who I want,
If I will ever choose
To want another again.
I look forward to my freedom
Riding the whims of my mind,
Embracing my unknown
With this ferocious thirst -
The ashrams calling me,
The road with its allure,
The trails and paths
Beckoning,
The siren of discovery.
I want to taste the void,
Suffer the healthy deprivation
Of material comforts,
Even flesh to flesh.
I will miss touch,
But not as much as
I've missed him already.
Being starved of
The future I once thought
We shared.
Moving gently forward,
Taking ginger steps, alone,
Careful not to lose my balance,
Careful not to lose my heart.
