He Tried

by Erin Jones

I drop to my knees
Screaming someone please
Just help me

He tried

Held me firmly
Set me in this reality
I avoided so carefully
I screamed
As the world sunk in its teeth
I turned and said quietly
“I just need to see
One reason I should be
Here without you with me.”
He looked back at me
“There never will be.”

This is beautiful. It's good to realize that there are people out there that care so much.

DUDE!!!! POTD!!1!!!1!!! ROCK AND ROLL SISTER! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AND WE LOVE YOU!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOOOOOOOOOOOOO YOOOOOOOOOOOOU!!!! P.S. - The poem rocked. it's so melancholy, but the quotes give it life beyond mere words. your writing is improving drastically over the past year. . . Not that it wasn't good before, but you're improving so much. makes me wanna cry :)

Poignant, tender, and direct - excellent art!
