Why It Rains

by John Harder

Is it you up there
weeping for your children
knowing we'll remember this day
A year after you left this world
They called for rain today
It must be you in your new home
swapping stories with the Lord
Telling him how much you love us
He knows how you feel
He knows how we feel
We all miss you greatly
This year has been a year
of many obstacles
Things we could have used your help with
I guess we must now learn
to go on without you
to survive on our own
yet we are not without you
completely
You live in us
through the time we had
and through the things you taught us
about life and love
The love only a mother can show
The love that sees her children sad
and cries tears like the rain

Sweet memories and I love how you ended this.
