Then Coyotes Sang by Karl Waldbauer
The sun reached down to caress the mountain top,
beginning their daily lovemaking.
As he moved down her hidden side
the mountain shot rays of orange and blue into the pristine sky.
Colors deepened as he moved lower
until the sky exploded in a show of natural fireworks.
Night crept in,
cloaking the lovers
as the sun moved on
to touch the distant sea
to make love with mountains unknown to me.

Posted by Julie Adams on 03/19/10 at 10:46 AM I could not rate this sultry lil poem high enough! What a fantastic and natural use of imagery, sensuality, and the power of clever language...this is an instant fav for me...not a single line I could pull to favor over the others, they all work so well together!! Kudos poet, this is fine fine work...peace, jewels xo
Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 04/29/10 at 11:36 AM I concur with Julie, Karl. This is a fantastic ode. Brimming with the cornucopia of life and hope and love and wonder.
Posted by Max Bouillet on 07/28/10 at 12:57 AM That is truly a beautiful scene. The imagery and the act weave together in a beautiful dance and then on to strangers further 'round the globe. These daily encounters give birth to wonderful words in the poet's pen. Thanks!
Posted by Rob Littler on 06/07/13 at 12:55 AM ..but known just the same. Unknown in directness, but I know them now too, for the reading of this makes them whole in me. There are so many things within us nobody will ever know, or hope to...or hope to hope to want to maybe maybe see. I am a pilot 600 meters down in the sub...to see this I know those valleys...and those Everests, under the sea.
