Questions Never Asked by Joan SerratelliThere are things
I want to know
but a wise person
told me
not to ask
a question
unless you want
the answer
There are things
I don't want to know
so I don't ask
unless I'm prepared
to know the truth
I don't want lies
and there are things
that are not for me
to know
I have realized
over the years
that there are things
I need to know
and others I just don't
So I have come
to the realization
that you don't ask
the question
unless you want
to hear the truth
Lies can only hurt
you when you need
to know the truth 05/18/2009 Author's Note: I have been blocked for days and this is my "starter" poem.

and there are things
that are not for me
to know" - this is that fine line - I like pondering this a lot. Thank you.

| Posted by Razel Davies on 07/19/09 at 12:29 PM I have never known a lie that didn't cause hurt or suffering. But the truth, even when painful, always has a brightness within it. To me, every question is worth asking. And as long as you do, you will find your true friends and soon will no long have to worry about lies. |
