Happy Mothers Day

by Maude Curtis

Once upon a time there was a child ready to be born. So one day she asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to Earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there so small and helpless?"
God replied," Among the many angels, I choose one for you. She will be waiting for you and will take care of you."
"But tell me, here in Heaven, I don't do anything else but sing and smile, that's enough for me to be happy."
He said, "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you every day. And you will feel your angel's love and be happy."
"And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me, if I don't know the language that men talk?"
"Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care your angel will teach you how to speak."
"And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?"
God said, "Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray."
"I've heard that on earth there are bad men, who will protect me?"
"Your angel will defend you even if it means risking her life."
"But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore."
"Your angel will always talk about me and will teach you the way for you to come back to me, even though I will always be next to you."
At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from earth could already be heard, and the child in a hurry asked softly, "Oh God, if I am about to leave now, please tell me my angels name."
God silenced all fear when He said, "Your angels name is of no importance. You will simply call her 'Mommy'."

Author's Note: We used to give this out on Mothers Day at "The Birthing Center" where I worked. I wish I could take credit for this piece but the author is unknown. Even so I wanted to share it with my friends here at "Pathetic" Wishing all you Moms a Happy Mother's Day

You have the gift of always bringing something beautiful to the table. This is an attribute of your kind, gentle and loving ways. To all 'Pathetikies" who peruse this sight, I can speak from experience...I have known this sweet woman since she sat in back of me in our 4th grade and 5th grade classes back in Missouri. I have had the pleasure of attending a multitude of church sevices and youth classes with her...sang with her in school choirs and marveled at her wonderful voice in church...until one day I suddenly realized that this beautiful, warm, kind, sweet and gentle being was more than that, and I saw her in a new light as the pretty, wonderful young woman SHE WAS....we were a special couple for awhile, almost got married..But somehow I let her slip away because of my own stupidity....I found her again last year and found she has never waivered in her ways of kindness and gentleness..( Well maybe she'll open up about those 'biker chick' dayz) SHE WAS the woman of my heart then and I find SHE STILL IS.....that same beautiful, compassionate woman who raised a brood of the greatest kids, who also begot great kids...Emmi's the best dear readers..she is absolutely THE BEST...Happy Mother's Day, Emmi and thank you for sharing your heart with me, and from all who have brightened their lives by having had the privilege of reading your words, hearing your nightengale voice, or the feel of your reassuring hand...happy Mom's day Baby.....I lovs ya. Fred (PDB)
