Catapult

by Chris Sorrenti

start by choosing a realistic destination
then stretch out with both arms - grab on to what you can
hold tight - take a deep breath
thrusting forward with all your might

while in mid air - enjoy the view - maybe even a somersault or two
approaching the ground - steady legs for touchdown
take a moment to regain balance - then give a great big smile
with hands high above head - in a ‘V’ for victory

I'd say that's pretty reasonable. Good piece from the archives, man.

Terrific Chris....sometimes we just need to let the "fiction" of life and death go, remain in the center...and forget we are there. Bon Voyage! Thanks.

You've still got some good ones in the vaults. This brought me a smile - what a great way to get around.... d:-)

Powerful imagery! Best have a chute open well before landing! Adventure for the young or young at heart (with a very good heart)!!

You sound like you might be an ex paratrooper. This sounds vaguely familiar to stories my sweetie tells of his days with the 82nd airborne.
