A Reality

by George Hoerner

i am not done

with you and the night

but it’s done with me

sending the sun

to spread light

on a night of love

drawn through

by the window glow

from two hearts

beating synchronous

dreams of reality

known only by souls

There's a great sense of summer being just on the horizon, that kind of energy, you know? Nicely done.

there is a classical and symmetrical feel to this ode. and I detect a tinge of regret in it as well which for me is an essential ingredient and lure if I am to be in the grip of a poem at all.

...such a plea and beacon: 'i/you're not done with her or the night'...yet the night is done...such a concept of hidden play...the drama of recognizition of lacking that kind of control...sorta stop the world and lemme off!, eh? i like all your work, i like this...like Mr. de Pinto says: has a lure to it...
