My Heaven

by Wendy Sparling

Sunshine filtered through hazy morning fog,
leaving steaming tendrils rising through wet sand,
while crabs scurry for cover beneath seaweed,
and sand dollars glimmer like silver dimes

The incoming tide stretch like piano fingers,
tickling, licking and grasping my bare feet,
and bubbling foam float like swirl clouds,
overcasting my churning marine world below

This is my world, this salt laden ocean,
and I am in heaven, basking in aqua mist.
Eternity awaits me, for this is my destiny;
to LIVE and BE, to breathe my heaven

I loved this vivid view of your world. How I wish I could live near the sea and enjoy such wonders.

Exhilerating! Both poem and illustration. The photo itself is poetry in motion.

I clicked on this poem not thinking I was about to be transported to heaven.

Beautiful poem and accompanying graphic/music Wendy. Have e-mailed the link to my girfriend, as she will easily relate, having lived on the west coast for a while at Refuge Coast and Cortez Island a few years back.
