My Day by Joan SerratelliIt started out
before 5 am
the dog
woke me
she had
to out
I stayed up
'cuz i read
the clock
wrong-I thought
it was 6
I decided to stay up!
I took my shower
drank coffee
had something
to eat
fed the dog
took my pills
and started
my day
I got on the computer
at about 7
checked my email,
and logged on
Pathetic.org
Since my memory
is somewhat
lacking,
I decided
to write down
all that I had done
and the exact time!
It's now
after 9
I'll wake
my husband
at 11
He needs to sleep
so I'll honor
his wishes
My daughter
and grandson
will be here
before 1
By then
I can have
another ciggie
and some lunch
I will make
some calls
get the mail
and hope that
everything
goes as planned
I don't know
when my grandson
will leave
I can only pray
that it's before
I run out of steam
Maybe tonight
I'll watch
some tv
and go
to sleep
at a normal
time- some time
close to 11
I need to take
another pill at about 2
and then at 5:30
and then about 7
I'll take my last
pain pill
at 9
If I can hold out
until that time
I'll take my Valium
at about 10
and off to sleep
until tomorrow
when I get the chance
to do it all again
So that's my life
boring or not
The choices
I make
will be my own.

| Posted by Maude Curtis on 03/31/09 at 08:19 PM sounds like a normal day for me too, Joan.
Like you the highlight of the day is when I get to see one if my grandbabies. I too run out of steam and am dog tired when they go home. |
