I cannot define but
formulate, analyze, spell
collapse and destroy
all the intricacies of
an afternoon rolled
up in one or two or
maybe more than
five-thousand to just
breakthrough and fire
something more or
anything really if we
could avoid going under
we just might be able to
get through this or that
and we could gather any
amount of strength of spite
just to come upon some
sort of wrong answer
when all you wanted was
to be right but that only
leaves nothing left and
I could never function in
fear and darkness unless
there’s more at the end
and there it is if you’re
looking and there it’s not
if anyone else wants it
more than they can handle
it’s more than I say and
more than I could dare
so I may stumble and I may
scream but it will get me
nowhere without something
more to fall back on and that’s
the point if you seek one out
otherwise it’s just a grasp and
a tug on air and you’re just
a gasp when swallowing the
whole world whole and needing
something in your stomach to
relieve the pressure that glides
and glistens in your eyes and I
could push it down and you
might do the same to you
or if you could open up you
would see that nothing really
matters at all and that matters
more than anything else
