For Romance by Richard DavisShe lights
white candles,
patchouli incense,
checks to see
if dinner is done.
He brings red roses,
rare vintage wine,
and a surprise gift:
a print of Rodin's
"The Kiss."
She meets him
at the door,
he slips his arm
around her waist,
gently touches
her face as they kiss.
There’s no need
to know what
happened after this.
Lovers should be
left alone
to enjoy love’s bliss.

Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 11/29/09 at 05:20 PM I feast upon you style which is seemingly simple and pure and sure to make me cry any second now. It just has that quality about it. And if any reader comes away from it, unaffected, no need to wake these readers up. most assuredly they are deceased. |
