Nothing could quite prepare you for this by Jared OrlandoNothing could quite prepare you for this.
You cut your teeth on the shores of blending thoughts
As the blood, it trickles like a stream down your lip
Ruby dripping onto your bare feet
A small price to pay for love, you say
Nothing could quite prepare you for this.
It wasn’t as much the blow as it was the look
When falling over, striking your knee on the table
He knew exactly what he was doing
Almost fueled even more after seeing that red
Nothing could quite prepare you for this.
Mother always said to take it slow
“Darling, please do not move to fast”
But you never were quite prepared for such grace
Such charming disposition a man could possess
Nothing could quite prepare you for this.
Through the ache and discord you force a smile
Almost haunting while cold tile holds your head
You must remember to not accept the bull
When he’s in fact the bull and you’re the red colored cape
Nothing could quite prepare you for this.
