the Vow

by Elizabeth Hoadley

I can only believe
that your charm
was a relief, of
your squirm-
ing restorations
and contentions
of a logical lull, so when
the red flag
is raised and
then grazed by
a stampeding bull,
I will know of all
the wonder and all
the fright that you
bestowed in my life
will be scrap booked
into the history of
an anointed wife
band from her life
and found in the
echoed walls
where dreams are
hid and fed throughout
the night

Great energy in this. I like the way it feels as though this thought is passing through the mind very, very quickly and there's a mild desperation to make sure everything in it is committed to memory.

"scrap booked into the history of an anointed wife band from her life and found in the echoed walls" - great lines.
