Alive Again by Maude CurtisWhen you tell me you love me
I feel alive and seventeen again.
Back to so many years ago
when our love first began.
When we broke up so long ago
who knew our hearts could ever mend?
We've grown smarter with age and now we know
The passion we share will never end.
Our love has lasted all thru the years
though we've lived our lives apart.
We've had other loves but now we're here,
sharing the love that burns deep in our heart.
So we'll throw caution to the wind
and let our feelings run wild,
to hell with being aged and refined.
We're gonna satisfy our inner child.
You may say we're acting like old fools.
Well even old fools deserve to be happy.
If we embarrass you kids, look the other way,
'cause we're gonna kiss and coo and be sappy.

Posted by Joan Serratelli on 03/05/09 at 04:47 PM This is sweet. I got back together with my high school sweetheart after my first miserable marriage. I, like you, did not care what anyone thought. Life is too short- be happy! Great read. |
Posted by Alison McKenzie on 03/05/09 at 07:02 PM I have a love like that, from when I was seventeen. We haven't spoken in 21 years. I would love to be able to live this love story. It's sweet and wonderful to hear it in your words and in your world! |
