Struck to Primal

by Alison McKenzie

Look at those eyes,
Prism blue to sky
Circuitous to ocean
Graying on the precipice
Of skin and sheath
Fur lined security
And the wire hair wild
A gaze piercing all
Veils of season
Struck by you, primal

Author's Note: This is my response to seeing the photo of one of our newest members, Leopold Jones, photoshopped to something primitive and ancient. Wow. I'm still in shock.
