Apathy is not the answer.

by Bek Williams

Somedays
I am just holding my breath.
Really.
That's all it is.
A bit like flying,
with your feet on the ground,
and auto-pilot on.

And I've got this feeling
like I am bad news,
so I sit in stairwells and
at abandoned tables at
the end of the PS stacks,
and sometimes I overhear
conversations.

I don't care much for film anymore
and the words that used to mean
so much
have slipped from my mind
and I've slipped too.

And I value the silence,
really, I do.
It means much more to me
than I could ever express
in a single sentence.

That's the problem with
these words.
They fumble out of my mouth
and I'm left
grasping at straws
hoping for the right answer,
hoping that I am on time,
and hoping for something true.

And apathy is not the answer.

Whatever straws you're grasping at, they definitely seem to be taking you places. Another good one.

And I value the silence, really, I do. It means much more to me than I could ever express in a single sentence....ah yes, the silences often speak volumes. very well expressed
