the flip side to red by Kristina Woodhillstapling banana peels to
this latest conveyor beltway
he high-stepped it on through
fancy that, he thought, fancy that
Velcro does not seal in all body parts
his curly-locked mind kept
clicking the switched handle
LED's trailing along in
multi-tangled hues
both hemispheres made
assignments
both missed the savant's
perfect pitch
deedle-dums pumped
from the heart's carouseling
Wurlitzer band organ
he circled the mix
rented a rowboat
and entered the tunnel
artificial moon beams shone,
their smiling songs jangling;
nightmares galloped into
carefully prepared walls
coupled hands reached through him
red neon echoes
bounced off his startled words
the water was cold
the tunnel was long
the happy ending was
no where to be seen
staple guns observed
and reached for
the same conclusion

Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 02/10/09 at 07:48 PM Hi Kristina. Wonderful continuance of idea that flows here. And, "deedle-dums pumped from the heart's carouseling Wurlitzer band organ"...is a great line to find here....thanks, I am delighted to read.
