Parallel Voyagers

by Anastasia Shows

Why do we meet in parallels?
our eyes so bright,
our personality sparkle like bells.

Shared hearts unique like weathered shells,
the ocean waves consume us by night.
Why do we meet in parallels?

Our spirits travel like crisp linen sails,
and the nautical mist captures the light.
Our personalities sparkle like bells.

"Land ho!" the captain yells.
There's not a dry soul in sight.
Why do we meet in parallels?

The air hangs with black magic spells,
but we meander bravely in spite.
Our personalities sparkle like bells.

The native cries are pointed nails,
and their ghastly expressions give us a fright!
Why do we meet in parallels?
Our personalities sparkle like bells.

kudos for this villanelle...how you weave it with ample imagery, with sound, and how you surprise the reader mixing senses, it is still ringing in my mind long after...a pleasure, peace, jewels
