Which kind of love?

by Maude Curtis

In my life I have known many kinds of love,

The love of a man of God
who can soothe the troubled soul
with his gentle words and touch.

The love of a special nurse
who tenderly cares for and nourishes
the sick or dying patients in her care.

The love of an innocent child
who smiles at every stranger
that comes into his life.

The love of a mother and father
who gives unconditionally
to their sometimes unruly children.

The love of a best friend
who stands beside you
no matter what kind of trouble you're in.

The love of a faithful pet
who's always ready to forgive
the harsh words or actions of its master.

The hot lustful love of one
who knows it's only temporary
and that it'll eventually burn out

And last but not least,

The lasting passionate love of one
who craves the touch and voice
of their one and only.

So many different kinds of love
and my heart is so confused.
So I'll pray for God to help me see
which kind of love you have for me.

I believe there are many different kinds of love. I hope the love you've found is everlasting and true. Well expressed- great write!
