YOUniverse

by Anastasia Shows

Let me drink of the hemlock
before I forsake my morals
to enable you in your corruption.

Allow me an ax to sever my hand
before I write the future
steeped in your deception

May you stab me in the back
so that I awake violently
from the drug induced nightmare
of which you created.

and if you gasp in faux surprise
when I leave you in your hour
of need
do not expect me to look back in remorse.

We seem to all live in our little universe of self only distrubed when someone bumps us into awarness and we refuse to get involved. Good write.

That's a hell of a nail to drive into the hand, as far as those last couple of lines go. Great work.
