First Steps

by George Hoerner

the step is taken
one then two
and da da ma ma

the running begins
and never stops
the words pour forth

no thoughts
just actions
only later

do what, when,
how and why
come into play

hoping beyond hope
that these words
these deeds
have a meaning

as this poem illustrates that it is well beyond the da da mama stage, it has every right to ask questions and seek answers to those queries, though there are none in the near vicinity, to answer them to our contentment, but the searching nevertheless is well worth the tripping, even if at present it is not hip to ask questions, but playing dumb ain't no fun and it sure ain't the answer, and it sure don't work and it sure don't quell anything for curiosity seekers, so faced with this dilemma, what do we do, George?
