the strip by Mary Frances Spencerseparated by the thinnest net
past present prostrate
they throw
volleyball bombs
serving hate over
and back
opposing teams
war not sport
religious fervor
fires deadly aim
game never
over
unresolved points
bodies counting
we watch
Gaza burn
again

Author's Note: Will it ever end? I wonder if people are capable of coexistence. I hope that we can all send our intentions for peace to all parts of the world. Namaste & Peace in this New Year to all! MFS

Posted by George Hoerner on 01/15/09 at 03:06 PM Good write MFS. Those in power play their games which lead to more games. War is only a game for those not being killed. For the bodies the game has ended. |
