Paper Anniversary

by Kitty Ness

a part of me is a part of you
a chart of three, a little clue
a home, a place, a face of fun
a robe, a lamb, a tiny thumb

we know the words that mean the most
a balm, a palm, some melon-toast
we sing them loud, we sing our tunes
we sing them all around the rooms

only one year in one-hundred-and-three
means so much to you and me
my pear, a pair we'll always be
my cute, a boot, a fish, a fair

i love you most of all these things:
a kite, the night, some quiet mews
we found our one, and then made two

I like that last stanza. Nice, easy-going and quite wonderful.

Yes silly, but very sweet. Like this.

It's not silly, it's realistic in a sense. It's cute and clever.
