Nudity

by George Hoerner

the night undresses
oh so slowly
star by star
across the sky
leaving her clothes
hidden behind
dark energy

wink by wink
she teases us
sending her trails
tantalizing our eye
far above the sky

we stare
but do not dare
to grasp her
natural reason
just part of the season

but we hold our breath
we make that wish
and hold it till
the blushing sun
chases night's nudity
from the sky

The flow and language in this come together so well. You make it look pretty damn effortless.

Wow! This one goes in my favorites. What magnificent and gentle heaven you brush into my day - making me eager for the evening and the opportunity to experience that splendid nakedness in a new way. Beautiful!
