The Christmas Cookie Monster

by Jennifer Ragan

The Christmas cookie monster
snuck in my house last night,
creeping down the chimney
with a monster appetite.

He tip-toed through the kitchen,
pulled open all the drawers.
Searched through every cupboard,
tore off the pantry doors.

With a monstrous sniff
he found the cookie tin.
Licked off all the frosting,
munched every cookie within.

He snuck back up the chimney,
as quietly as can be.
Now there's no more Christmas cookies
and everyone blames me.
