That Something by Anastasia Showsflicking the hair out of his eyes,
he gives me that tiny side grin
and looks down at me playfully.
my heart wants to leap from my chest
when he looks at me that way
and i sigh the sigh of bliss
quietly
but
he always hears and asks
"what?"
"nothing"
"something."
"nothing...just content"
and my face centers on his chest
one ear to his heart
which beats so fast
when we kiss
long and
passionate. 12/11/2008 Posted on 12/12/2008 Copyright © 2026 Anastasia Shows

| Posted by Jared Fladeland on 12/12/08 at 03:30 AM that final stanza has a rhythm to it. there's no punctuation, but when i read it, it's very slow and methodical. yet the content gives me the opposite impression, since it is of a racing heart. and the clashing of those two images the slow methodical with the racing heart, gives me a wonderful gooey feeling inside. |
