Look at me now

by Dave Fitzgerald

Look at me now.
Look what I'm not.
Look what I was.
I was shit-hot.
Sharp as a knife.
Keen as they come.
Look at me now.
What have I done?

Author's Note: I think this will get longer the more I fail.

The only redemption is the lesson.

Though I do hope you don't fail (I'm assuming in life), I will say yes to more stuff like this. Very quick, very sharp wit.

So, what is it you've done? That's got to be some shit worth telling :> Nice twist on the hot knives (through butter) theme...

May I have your permission to recite this poem to my face in the mirror?

I can relate. Just the other night I tried to express the pain accompanying feelings of inadequacy and it fill on deaf ears - worse - it was rejected and judged. It actually helps me to read it here. Thanks for the honesty and the gift of this poem.
