Uncharted by Alison McKenzieThrough dark and dusty corridors
I inch forward,
Then rush back
To the most recently rounded corner,
The last place I was sure
I knew where I was.
Thick cobwebs stick to my groping.
Spiderless, they give me chills anyway.
Yet, today,
I am unafraid.
I remain inspirationally propelled
By this nebulous divinity,
This mysterious assignment,
You and I in the same classroom
Fated souls to intertwine
And miles of uncharted territory to cover.

Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 12/08/08 at 08:09 PM Hi Alison, there are those dark hallways we must traverse throughout life. You have a special awareness though, as a guide. And I think, "mysterious assignment" is really a wonderful lable. Thanks. |
Posted by George Hoerner on 12/08/08 at 08:40 PM Really nice write Alison. I think that hallway is called life. On rare occasions we see via a spot light something we think we can hold onto but 'the closer our destination, the more we're slip sliding away'. |
Posted by Mary Frances Spencer on 12/08/08 at 10:58 PM It is difficult to make our way through...but the light is shining there for us all! Well written! MFS |

Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 12/09/08 at 05:07 AM I like the back and forth feeling in this, but the basic determination to keep going. Love - "You and I in the same classroom. " |
