Time Has Come Today by Tony WhitakerNewton wrote, just a sequence to trace
Einstein proved it pairs with space
But nothing stops its relentless pace
For it can make a smile become a frown
For those who discharge another round
Another friend dies in your proving ground
Racing to win seeing only its end
Life runs with you so feel the wind
A champion's pace is to befriend
So seek the rainbows, not the gold
Look in the windows of your soul
Patch those broken panes of old
Life for some is one dog fight
Lick the wounds of those you bite
Before the lap of eternal night
Time will stop for you at last
So seize the day before the die is cast
Give love to all and weld your past

| Posted by George Hoerner on 11/25/08 at 02:45 PM Very nice write Tony. So few of us know we have so much love to give. And then, some of us do not know how to accept it. |
| Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 12/06/08 at 03:55 PM Words to live by to be sure Tony. As you can see in my most recent, I too like to employ time in my poetry. Amazing thing also in how at times it has an illusory affect in that it seems to move faster or slower depending on the activities we engage in, and yet still marches on...unstoppable. |
