temptation

by Maria Massarella

yours

could never have been
just an ordinary apple

casual sketch feathered
strokes of forever minutes away

from being erased
winking mischievously

incandescent white on black
board captivating my surprised eye

artistic perfection

light caressing the soul
arousing lip-biting thoughts

exposèd to desire

envisionings of you
filled
my mindseye

green as spring leaves
temptation's apple

deliciously close to
your mouth

...sigh...
"strokes of forever minutes away" is such a creative way to express that thought... sensual poetry that transcends the senses. Exquisite.

ummm..those first three lines grabbed me...Eve, had she been a poet, could not have crafted better!
