Breathless War

by Christopher Shin

In this war I feel
that I am the victim
and the title songs
says I am the victor.

All my allies burned
the fliers of my win.
Yet I'm the loser in
this trojan war.

I hide amongst the
plank but all I have
is gone to the summer
wind.

Ashes settle all around
me like a blizzard of
chaos and discomfort.
And I'm on my knees
begging for some sort
of peace.

You tell me that love
is my only salvation,
but I'm not saved.
Her sweat is on my skin,
and her breath is on my
lips.

And the yet comes again,
and I don't have the tenderness
that so many dreams bring.
I'm stuck with mirrors
of me.

No hope can found and
I stand behind a sign
that reads redemption
is not here.

But you can take this
discontent for now,
but I am left behind.
Like the most.

"I'm stuck with mirrors of me." I really like this line in the context here.
