I approached
and
greeted the table.

After exchanging pleasantries
(which they seemed to mean)
I took their beverage order.

She ordered flat water
while he ordered
an Arnold Palmer, "hold the alcohol."

At first I simply said "okay"
but curiosity caught me
and I asked where this drink

could ever contain alcohol?
He told me of an instance
that they added Vodka

and it was down South
adding the people do
"some crazy things down there."

I thought about
the lingering Presidential election
a mere day away

dreading the possibilities
simply nodded and agreed
"they do indeed."
