Sunday's Mood

by Sandy M. Humphrey

Smile's and sunshine
quickly changes
"i'll say"
mood flashes
silence constricts
traffic flows slows

air is thick
as 3 in 4-door
glide silently
against the wind
on a road to better

Sunday drive
along country roads
radio crooning
what hearts will not
if you cannot speak
you might as well sing

alone and off key
that it is just
how this day
turned out
to be

Author's Note: "Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, a charm to sadness, gaitey and life to everything. It is the essence of order and lends to all that is good and just and beautiful." --Plato

...sandy, really loved the author note, and yet your pome says it all, before i read your note, i already knew what you were doin' clearin' you mind, heart, soul, wonderful expressiveness, well honestly all through, but i stopped when i read that part about the music crooning what we/you couldn't ...

Nice write lady. And the nice thing is it doesn't talk back. Sometimes it is all that is really needed.

The family that sings together stays together, even off key...hopefully ha ha. Well represented Sandy!
