11 Nov 1874 by Keith D AllisonIn the roll time
he was born
in Jefferson County
in the state of Iowa
like his father
They
Like their fathers fathers
scratch
the new soil
Scratching now the name
on the back
of an old
tin type
Once
my cousin and I
set upon his knee
few remember his laughter
But none will remember
his birthday
for common man
is forgotten as the years drift away 11/02/2008 Posted on 11/02/2008 Copyright © 2024 Keith D Allison
