Scenes from "Passions of the Soul"

by Tony Whitaker

Wide awake at 3 am

A darkened room

projector reeling

October's full moon lights the show:

Thoughts flow with heart in tow’

“Emotions” arise from the minds of men

“Passions” chosen to suffer in

My mind feels joy from scenes inside

Our passions endured the changing tides

Numb, sensing the tick of time,

This faith I'll see you in the end

Heaven's a place I can't confess

Though the masses state its happiness

But there is no heaven

If the “"i" of me is not replete

With the life of your love our canvas completes

Depicting both success and defeat

And there will still…

Be you and me
