October Moon

by Kristina Woodhill

I've lost the moon
so sorry

it was clearly there
the shine

the sun's doing
you know

a nightly tease
unveiling

concave and
convex

shapes of waxing
smooth

a distant
growing

glow, but I
drew

closer and lit
the match

to find my
way

from here to
there

through dark
to light

reaching bravely
through

and in my
hurry

to caress
the man

in hiding there
the hot match

began the melting
wane

anew

I've lost the moon
so sorry

...btw you're forgiven for losing the moon... :-)

Ah, but you have not lost it, only borrowed its glow to refresh your own. Those of us who see it as a circumambulating aphrodisiac trust it is in good hands. Peace always. Thanks.

"I've lost the moon - So sorry" reminds me of "Eyes of a blue dog." Sublime such beauty.
