Youthful You

by Christopher Shin

My time has come and
gone like the seasons
that saunters in
with much confidence.

Yet I turn and wonder
as I watch the
youthful images
dance and glitter
with such pride.
Was I that bold?

To stand amongst
my peers to admire
the pretty colors
as they blended
and stole pieces
of my heart?

Slowly I try
to become like them,
but I know that
my time is gone.

My admiration
merely a desire
to be youthful
or am I still confused
as to the youth
I was or could
never be.

Superbly worded introspection in regards to one's own lost youth, while surrounded by those who've yet to make the journey as far as you have Chris. Brilliant! ...adds to favorites.
