Do You Remember? by Richard Davis
Walking through
the store too poor
to buy anything?
It didn't matter.
We walked the aisles
for hours until closing,
holding hands,
just happy
to be together.
The park bench near
the river where we sat
one fairytale summer evening
the soft breeze playing
tenderly with your hair
your head resting
on my shoulder,
both of us watching
the sky grow dark
waiting for the first
star to shine.

Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 08/27/10 at 03:22 PM yes, I do remember this very incident happening to me and mine at least once in our lifetime and this lovely ode boomerangs it all back to me and mine a second time round. |
