My Name is Death

by Christopher Shin

How does it feel
to have a name
with death?

Would you be angry
with those you love,
because destruction
only brings you
one step closer
to the end?

Would your spirit
be free with the
knowledge that
winged angels flutter
to your very name?

Or would the end
make you frustrated
with the fact that
none would know
you so well then
she who flies by?

When lovers kiss
and embrace with
hungry arms,
you're all alone
in your plague
like name.

All you can
see is that
death is in your name,
and spirits and
life is nothing
you can experience.

Interesting. I was reading about the origins of the name "Christopher" which is "bearer of the annointed one". Your name is a fascinating mix - definitely one that would beg for discussion, which could be a good thing.

I was also reading where Shin in Japanese means "true" - perhaps that is one worth hanging your hat on.
