i can't believe i'm even thinking this by Nanette Bellmanmy finger feels naked without his ring.
it's funny how you learn to miss the things
you had to learn to get used too.
like constantly fixing the position of it.
because they don't make rings in size 4.
the last place we lived felt like a home.
mix-and-matched, mismatched furnishings
but furnished none the less.
a broken couch where he'd sit,
and i'd lay my head in his lap.
even though i slept closest to the door.
i still slept beside him.
i'd throw my leg over his
and when my left side fell asleep and i'd roll over
and he'd be right behind me.
with ulterior motives that now, i miss.
everytime i hear "Oh Atlanta",
i think of how we sat on the bed that 3am
and cried. together.
he realized that we'd never sing it.
together.
