childhood sarcasm, adult dreams by Jared Fladeland
on a summer wind kinda day
i dream
dream of a motion,
creamy sun tan lotion
floating on an inner tube
baking for eight hours
in a perfect ninety-three degree sun.
and i'm smiling.
nothing can be more happier
than giving up nothing
and taking in everything,
suck suck sucking
like a new born baby
on every toe in the jacuzzi.
ah how i miss
behind a child
screwing up my chances
of living up to potential
and working my way upwards
to the type of income
tax breaks are given to by republicans
but then
what is the american dream,
if not a drifting memory
of better days,
loose change in the pocket,
and nothing to live for but
disappointing an older generation.

As a critique, I'd lose the first two lines :) |
